Beginner's mind is a silly superpower - a bit like showing up to a gunfight with a rubber chicken - you have no idea what's going on, but damn, you're interesting. It’s a zen thing where you’re supposed to forget all the stuff you’ve crammed into your pip over the years — like the capital of Eritrea or how to not pay taxes without ending up in a cell next to a guy named Knuckles. It’s about looking at the world as if you’ve just fallen off a turnip truck, wide-eyed and slack-jawed, marveling at the wonder of it all (before life kicks you in the shins and tells you to stop blocking the sidewalk). So if you can manage to see the universe as a giant, mystifying blob of 'Whoa, dude' while simultaneously knowing how to tie your shoes, you're there. It’s an art form really, a sort of mental gymnastics that allows you to find peace in this world, but also naive inpiration while still remembering how to brush your teeth.
